Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku has been in contact with former Inter teammates about his likely return as the deal could close at €10 million, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Belgian forward and some of his former teammates who are still at Inter are not convinced that the move will go ahead and it is merely a matter of time.

There was a telephone summit between the two clubs on Friday night to try and get the deal closed but new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was not present as he had just flown back to the United States for work reasons.

Inter initially offered €5 million but they knew that it would not be enough. Now it seems very likely that Chelsea will be willing to accept a fixed fee of €10 million as well as some bonuses for the one-year loan of Romelu Lukaku.
