Torino defender Gleison Bremer is focused on joining Inter and would play for the Italian national team if he’s not called up by Brazil, according to a report in the Brazilian media today.

As has been reported by ESPN Brasilia, via FCInternews, Gleison Bremer is currently considering more than just his club future as it is also not clear which country he will be playing for in the coming years.

The Brazilian is getting closer to a move to the Nerazzurri having agreed on personal terms a long time ago. He recently made it clear that he is leaving Torino this summer and is assessing a few different offers.

He is yet to play for Brazil but he has applied for Italian citizenship as he has lived there for four years and also has Venetian ancestors. He intends to do the same for his wife once he gets his own citizenship.

“My dream is to play with the Seleçao, but if I was not given the opportunity to one day play with the Brazil jersey and if instead this opportunity was granted to me by Italy I would be ready to play with the Italian national team.

“I would do it, I would accept immediately without any problems. I am very attached to Italy, because it is a country that welcomed me very well four years ago and where, in Turin, my daughter was born.”
