Inter coach Simone Inzaghi would like to bring Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi to the club this summer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Inter are in need of more quality defensive depth next season given some players are leaving.

One cheap option could be Francesco Acerbi who is set to leave Lazio having joined the club in 2018 and making 135 appearances. He is now 34 years old and that means he does not want to leave Italy. If he can stay near the top of the table it will be a bonus.

He worked with Simone Inzaghi at the Biancocelesti and the pair had a very good relationship. Given Inter could sell Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij this summer as well as losing Andrea Ranocchia to Monza, reinforcements are certainly needed. Gleison Bremer and Nikola Milenkovic are the primary targets.
