Marseille head coach Jorge Sampaoli has personally phoned Inter forward Alexis Sanchez about a possible transfer to the French side, but the player would prefer a move to Barcelona.
This according to today’s print edition of Chilean newspaper La Tercera, who report that the coach would be very keen on signing the 33-year-old, who is still waiting to see if a return to the Blaugranas could materialize.
Sanchez’s future looks to be far away from Inter, as the Chilean is not in the Nerazzurri’s plans for the next season and the club are looking to offload him to make space in their wage bill and squad for incoming signings.
The 33-year-old’s next club remains to be seen, although he is reported to be interested in a return to La Liga, particularly to Barcelona.
It remains to be seen if the Catalan giants will move for Sanchez, but in the meantime his former Chilean national team Sampaoli would like to reunite at Marseilla, and has personally called about the possibility of his joining the French side.
