Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni is set to increase a wage increase to around €4 or €4.5 million net per season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri will hand the 23-year-old the pay increase in view of the fact that he does not look likely to leave this summer.

Bastoni had been linked with a summer sale from Inter, with clubs from the Premier League interested and former Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte particularly keen on linking up with him again at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Spurs’ interest ultimately came to nothing, whilst the player’s clear desire to remain at Inter for next season also played a decisive role in the English club’s interest waning.

Coach Simone Inzaghi regards Bastoni as an irreplaceable player on a tactical level, and the 23-year-old has shown loyalty to the Nerazzurri despite interest from top clubs in Europe, and he is set to be rewarded with a pay increase.
