Inter President Steven Zhang and coach Simone Inzaghi enjoy a very positive relationship, and this has been a key part of the calm atmosphere around the club since the former Lazio boss joined.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight the good working rapport and even personal friendship between the duo.

Inzaghi arrived at the beginning of last summer from Lazio, where he replaced Antonio Conte following the former coach’s abrupt departure.

The 46-year-old was identified as the right man to carry on Conte’s work, but also brought with him his own set of ideas and methods, and above all a different kind of temperament and attitude compared to his predecessor.

Zhang has enjoyed working with Inzaghi, as communication between the pair has always been fairly easy and straightforward and trust is high on a personal level.

There was never any doubt that the Nerazzuri would extend their coach’s contract to secure his future for the longer term, based purely upon the results shown on the pitch by his work in his first season in charge.

However, this is not the full extent of why the trust is so high between the coach and his club, as he also enjoys a positive personal relationship with numerous figures around Inter, none moreso than the President.
