Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani believes that even if Milan Skriniar is sold to Paris Saint-Germain, Inter can still maintain the quality of their defense if they are to sign Bremer from Torino.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TeleLombardia, Ravezzani gave the view that the Brazilian is in fact a better defender than Skriniar, while he also suggested that Stefan de Vrij can remain at the heart of Inter’s defensive solidity even if he hasn’t had his best season.

Skriniar has been one of the outstanding defenders in Serie A for much of his time at Inter, and in the single campaign spent with Sampdoria before the Nerazzurri signed him.

Losing the 27-year-old would undoubtedly be a blow, but with Bremer lined up as a defensive reinforcement, the Nerazzurri could well be signing a player of equal calibre based on his outstanding form in the season just gone.

Ravezzani not only thinks this, but believes Bremer is better, stating that “The truth is that Bremer is better than Skriniar. Skriniar has a particular way of playing, he attacks his opponent, he is aggressive. But there was a period when he was benched.”

“I prefer classy players,” he suggested. “In my opinion Bremer is better.”

“And then it’s become fashionable for Inter fans to suggest that de Vrij is past his best,” he continued.

“The column of Inter has always been formed by Skriniar and de Vrij, but often it’s been De Vrij who’s been the better of the two,” Ravezzani argued. “Not in the last season, but in the past, yes.”
