Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has said that the first game of the season against Lecce will be exciting and his side must show determination in all of their games, according to a report on the club website.
Simone Inzaghi gave a short interview to Inter’s official website to discuss the Serie A fixture list which was announced today by Lega Serie A.
Inter’s first match will be away at newly-promoted Lecce which is the same fixture that Antonio Conte started his Inter reign with back in 2019. That game was also Romelu Lukaku’s Inter debut. The Nerazzurri won 4-0 that day.
The coach is clearly excited by that particular opening day fixture: “We start the new season against a newly-promoted team like Lecce: it will be an exciting challenge and we will have to be focused and attentive.”
He then talked about the fixture list in a more general sense and made it clear that his team will need to be determined to win in every single game.
“In the Italian league no match is easy: we will play every three days, we will have to prepare in the best possible way and face every match with the same determination and desire to do well.”
The final game of the season will be away at Torino in June.
