Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in signing Inter defender Stefan de Vrij, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, there is interest in the Dutch defender whose contract will expire at the end of next season.

Inter value him at around €15-20 million and it would be a welcome fee to receive in addition to the money from Milan Skriniar’s possible sale to Paris Saint Germain.

The Nerazzurri must either sell him to a Premier League side this summer or reach an agreement for a contract extension because if they do not, he will leave for free next summer.

The suggested fee is one that both Manchester United and Chelsea will be able to afford so if the player can reach personal terms with either side, it could help to speed the deal along and allow Inter to work on replacements.
