Salernitana are in talks with Inter to agree on a loan and a right of redemption for young defender Lorenzo Pirola, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Granata are pressing ahead with their transfer business as pre-season approaches and they want to get Lorenzo Pirola through the door as soon as possible.

The defender has already agreed on personal terms with Salernitana and they want an agreement that would be a loan and a right to buy him permanently, as long as they avoid relegation to Serie B.

He spent the last two seasons at Monza but instead of paying the agreed-on fee to make the move permanent, the Brianza chose to try and lower the price.

The player clearly wants to play in Serie A this season and at Salernitana he could be a key player in defence.
