AC Milan are ready to rival Inter to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic after missing out on the signing of Sven Botman from Lille.

This according to today’s Florence-based print edition of La Repubblica, who report that the Rossoneri are ready to move for the 24-year-old now that it looks like they won’t be able to sign their primary target in Botman.

Milenkovic is the Nerazzurri’s main option to replace Milan Skriniar now that the Slovakian looks set for a big money sale to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, they are not the only team interested in the Serb, and it could come down to a transfer battle with their city rivals who are looking to reinforce their defense as well.

La Viola could be hoping for a bidding war between the two Milan teams as they aim to immediately raise funds to move for a replacement for Milenkovic, with their primary target being Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi.
