Inter CEO Beppe Marotta wants to sell striker Edin Dzeko this summer in order to make way for the signing of Paulo Dybala on a free transfer.
This according to the online edition of the Corriere della Sera, who report that the Bosnian is the player who Marotta will look to part ways with in order to make room in the Nerazzurri’s squad for Dybala, who could have to accept more of his wages in the form of add-ons.
Inter are still looking to sign Dybala on a free transfer, but the move is currently held up by the fact that there are too many forwards in the squad for them to accommodate him, particularly once the arrival of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea is confirmed.
Alexis Sanchez is set to leave, while Marotta is also looking to offload Dzeko.
The Nerazzurri could also ask Dybala to accept a lower fixed amount in terms of his wages than had been initially offered, and for more of the amount to come in the form of appearance-based add-ons.
