Inter-owned goalkeeper Filip Stankovic is happy with his decision to spend another season on loan with Volendam now that they have reached the Eredivisie.

Speaking to Dutch broadcaster NH Sport, the young Serbian goalkeeper gave his thoughts on the move and explained that it was never something that he had any second thoughts about and that he believes is the right next chapter for him.

Stankovic spent last season on loan in the Netherlands with Volendam, where he helped the Dutch side to promotion to the top flight alongside fellow Inter-owned youngster Gaetano Oristanio.

Now, the young keeper will get his first taste of regular top flight senior football, as he looks to try and help Volendam keep themselves in the Eredicise in their first season back.

For his part, Stankovic has always felt that it was the right decision for his immediate future and he is happy with staying.

“I immediately said yes to staying,” he said. “It may have seemed like a surprise to you, but it wasn’t for me, I never had any doubts.”
