Lazio striker Ciro Immobile believes that Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter will be a positive thing for all of Serie A.

Speaking while accepting the “Sportsman of the Year” award in Venice, as reported by FCInter1908, the 32-year-old gave the view that Lukaku being back at Inter will raise the level of the Italian top flight as a whole.

Lukaku had been one of the most high-profile players in Serie A during his two seasons with the Nerazzurri, being named as the division’s player of the year when he led them to the Scudetto in the 2020-21 season, and earning a huge money move to Chelsea.

Now, just one season after making the switch to London in the second most expensive deal of last summer’s transfer window, the Belgian is set to re-join Inter on loan.

Once again, the 29-year-old will be at one of the most high-profile deals of the summer involving Inter and Chelsea, but this time he will be coming the other way, and Immobile thinks that Serie A as a whole will benefit from it.

“With Lukaku back in Italy the level of our league is raised,” the striker said. “I’ll have to constantly give my best.”
