Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti still has very positive memories associated with winning the European treble as a player with the Nerazzurri in 2010.
Speaking to the StarCasino Sport YouTube channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Zanetti looked back on the treble and the effect that coach Jose Mourinho had on the team among other topics from his playing career.
Zanetti had a very long Nerazzurri career, playing nearly a thousand matches for the club, and there is no shortage of trophies in his cabinet from his time as an Inter player.
However, the greatest moment for the Argentine was lifting the Champions League trophy in a season where he and his teammates had already clinched the Serie A and Coppa Italia titles domestically.
Asked who the coaches to have had the biggest effect on him were, Zanetti said that “It’s difficult to choose one manager. Simoni was very important for us and we miss him a lot, because beyond his ability as a coach he was a great person. He really created a great group.”
