Marseille are ready to join Valencia in the race to sign Inter midfielder Matias Vecino on a free transfer this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet Corriere.it, who report that the French giants are keen on a move for the 30-year-old, whilst Valencia are struggling to make the move happen financially even though he is a major target for them.

Vecino will certainly depart Inter this summer with his contract expiring in a couple of days, though his destination is not certain as plenty of clubs have come forward with an interest in his signature.

Teams in Italy, elsewhere in Europe, and also outside of the continent have shown an interest in the Uruguayan, and Valencia have been one of the teams with the strongest links to him in recent days.

However, the La Liga side could find it difficult to fit the midfielder into their wage bill, and Marseille are ready to jump in and try to sign him.
