Romelu Lukaku is back in Milan and right on the verge of completing his return to Inter on loan from Chelsea.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Belgian is all ready to start the process of making his signing official and becoming a Nerazzurri player for next season.

Lukaku landed in Milan early in the morning, touching down at Linate airport, and now he will rest up and then make his appearance at the Nerazzurri headquarters for his medicals and other formalities ahead of the move.

The 29-year-old’s return did not look at all probable, but it was his insistent pushing in particular that was a key factor in convincing the two clubs to reach and agreement and make it happen.

Now, the Nerazzurri will wrap up the loan signing with plenty of time to spare with respect to the deadline of the end of June in order to be able to apply the tax benefits of the Growth Decree to his wages.

Speaking to reporters after landing, Lukaku said that “I’m glad to be back.”
