Lecce director Pantaleo Corvino says that Inter got a superb deal for Romelu Lukaku and his arrival shifts the balance in Serie A, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of Lecce’s first season back in the top flight having been relegated in 2020, Pantaleo Corvino passed comment on the transfer window of Inter.

He admitted that he did not expect the Nerazzurri to be able to get Romelu Lukaku back from Chelsea having sold him for so much money just one year earlier.

Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter on loan was officially announced by Inter on Wednesday afternoon, much to the joy of the striker.

“No because last year Chelsea spent €115 million and this year they gave him out on loan for €8m plus bonuses. Inter certainly got a super deal, Lukaku is someone who shifts the balance. And then he marries wonderfully with Lautaro at his side: it’s a perfect pair.”

Pantaleo Corvino went on to say that Inter are one of the favourites to win the league next season but he thinks Juventus will be a contender as well.

“They are one of the favourites. Juve with Di Maria will strengthen a lot. They will have Pogba and they will find Chiesa again after his injury: he is like a new signing. And let’s not forget that in January they anticipated a summer operation by bringing home Vlahovic.”
