Italian journalist Fabio Caressa has said that he is not convinced by Andre Onana and thinks that Samir Handanovic will still start for Inter, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport in Italy, via L’Interista, Fabio Caressa had a lot of criticism for new Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana who had his signing made official by the club today with an announcement and an interview.

The journalist stated that he still thinks Samir Handanovic will be the number one goalkeeper because the Cameroonian is too inconsistent.

“In my opinion Handanovic will always play. He’s never convinced me, he’s no use to a team like Inter. He’s inconsistent, despite doing great things.”

He went on to say that Inter should perhaps have signed an Italian goalkeeper this summer and said that Andre Onana will be the big question mark in the Inter squad.

“I understand the deal, but perhaps I would have gone for an Italian goalkeeper. He will be Inter’s big question mark, he doesn’t convince me one hundred per cent.”

Andre Onana has played for Barcelona in the past having moved there when he was 14 and he then became first choice at Ajax.
