Newly-appointed Salernitana Sporting Director Morgan De Sanctis doesn’t deny that his club would be interested in signing Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti this summer.

Speaking in a press conference at his unveiling in his new role, as reported by FCInterNews, De Sanctis noted that Pinamonti is currently thinking about his future, and that Salernitana would be happy to bring him in.

Pinamonti enjoyed by far the best season of his career to date on loan with Empoli last season, and this has meant that there is no shortage of transfer interest in him, both from within Serie A and abroad.

Salernitana are among the clubs keen on the 23-year-old, as they are aiming to build around young Italian talent in their bid to stay in Serie A for another season after avoiding the drop last time around.

De Sanctis explained the situation as being up to the player whose decision is not yet made, noting that “Pinamonti is reflecting on his future and that must be respected. We’re waiting for him, it’s not a problem. We would be happy to have him in our team.”
