Arturo Vidal is on the verge of a move to Brazilian giants Flamengo and will leave Inter once the club pay out a €4 million severance to avoid extending his current contract.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 35-year-old is set to join the Brazilians over Boca Juniors.

Vidal’s exit from the Nerazzurri has long looked inevitable, but it will not come without a cost to the club, due to a clause in his contract.

When the Chilean was signed from Barcelona in the summer of 2020, some of his wages were deferred from the initial season of his contract, in the form of an option on the part of the club to extend his deal past the end of this summer on improved terms, which the club could decline by paying a €4 million fee.

The Nerazzurri will soon do this, and then it won’t be long before the midfielder joins Flamengo.
