Flamengo defender David Luiz has responded to reports that he has been offered to Inter this summer, denying them in no uncertain terms.

Writing on his Instagram story, as reported by FCInterNews, the 35-year-old called the rumours “fake news” and reiterated that he is totally committed to his current club Flamengo rather than seeking a move away.

Yesterday, a report emerged that Luiz had been offered to the Nerazzurri as a stopgap option to strengthen their defense ahead of the upcoming season, and that he could be keen on a return to European football.

However, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea defender has personally taken to social media to deny the rumours and claim that they have no basis in fact.

For now, the Brazilian has taken a very clear stance that the rumours are not to be believed and that a move to Inter will not be on the cards for him.

He wrote, “Fake news! I’m totally convinced on the task at hand at Flamengo. God bless those who make up news.”
