Inter are thinking about signing defender Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund, and would be ready to put as much as €30 million towards a deal for him.

This according to German news outlet Bild, which reports that the Nerazzurri are keen on the 26-year-old as part of their defensive rebuilt and could step up their interest soon, although they have not yet made a formal offer for him.

Inter are on the lookout for central defenders to bolster their backline, with Milan Skriniar inching closer to a sale to Paris Saint-Germain and Stefan de Vrij not guaranteed to be at the club for next season, whilst Andrea Ranocchia has already departed on a free transfer.

Akanji is a player on their radar, and the Swiss defender looks to be on the way out from Dortmund, who have brought in signings for a new-look defense themselves.

The 26-year-old is also subject to interest from the Premier League, but for the right fee he would be willing to consider a move to Inter.
