Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji has been offered to Inter, but they only consider him to be a backup target to Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri consider Akanji a target, but only as a fallback option with Milenkovic a more serious target for them.

Akanji has just one season left on his current deal with Dortmund, and especially given that they have signed other players in his position this summer, he could leave the Schwarzgelben during the window.

The Nerazzurri are a club with whom the 26-year-old has been linked, and they are aware of his situation.

Inter like Akanji’s profile and could decide to move for him, but their priority remains signing Milenkovic from Fiorentina, and the Dortmund player would only become a major target in the event that they are to miss out on signing the Serb.
