Legendary former Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli believes that the Nerazzurri are the team to have been most proactive in improving their squad this summer transfer window among top clubs in Serie A.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Altobelli gave his thoughts on the transfer business done so far by his old club.

Inter have already announced several signings, with the club having stuck to their ambition of getting most of their business out of the way in June fairly closely.

Targeted arrivals all over the pitch look to have addressed some of the outstanding tactical and personnel issues that had been apparent last season, particularly during the grinding halt in form of February and March.

There are still big sales to be made, and the wait to see how Inter’s rivals at the top respond, but for now Altobelli believes that it is the Nerazzurri who have done the most to improve their team for next season.

“Inter have signed Lukaku, Onana, Asllani, Mkhitaryan,” he pointed out, “while their rivals have almost stood still.”

“It’s true that Pogba, Di Maria, and perhaps Zaniolo should arrive at Juve,” the former striker went on, “that would be a good step forward, but there are still no certainties.”

Altobelli added that “Milan chose Origi, who is a good player, and Adli, who is solid. It’s too early to predict the table, but these three will fight for the Scudetto along with Naploli and Roma.”
