Manchester United have not made signing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer ahead of Inter their main objective, and they instead prefer to keep Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad.

This according to UK news outlet Manchester Evening News, who report that the Red Devils are still aiming to keep hold of Ronaldo and that Dybala would only be a backup option for them.

Dybala has been linked with United recently, with the idea being that Ronaldo could try and force a move away from the Premier League giants after they failed to secure Champions League qualification, and the Argentine could be the player who they target to replace him.

Given that Inter have yet to complete a deal for Dybala, the 28-year-old could be seriously looking at other options.

However, for the moment signing Dybala would not be a priority for United, who are working to convince Ronaldo to stay another season.
