The Flamengo vice president Marcos Braz has said that Arturo Vidal needs to go to Italy to sort out paperwork and there are some opportunities to sign Alexis Sanchez, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking on the sidelines of a new player presentation for the club, via FCInternews, Marcos Braz discussed Inter’s Chilean duo Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez.

The former is set to join Flamengo soon after agreeing on a contract with the Brazilian side but the vice president revealed that he needs to head back to Italy before the move can be announced so that some paperwork can be filed and some personal issues can be addressed.

“He has to go to Italy to resolve some personal issues that prevent him from making an announcement. He still has to resolve these details, but we will not have any kind of problem.”

As for Alexis Sanchez, Flamengo could possibly end up being his destination too but it would be a much harder deal to pull off because the former Manchester United forward still seems to want to spend more time in Europe.

“I’m not saying it’s possible. There are some market opportunities, so I won’t say if it’s possible or not. I won’t talk about the arrival of a single player.

“Not even because, if I wanted and confirmed it, that would interfere with the negotiations.

“There is a financial part, several situations that have to be analysed from this aspect. What I can tell the fans is that Flamengo will have a big transfer window.

“It hasn’t started yet, but we will have a pleasant surprise so that on the 20th, against Juventude, all the reinforcements will be available to Flamengo.”
