Former Inter midfielder Vincenzo Scifo has said that Inter forward Romelu Lukaku is a real and passionate man and that it is hard to find balance with Paulo Dybala in the team, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Enzo Scifo explained how much admiration he has for new Inter forward Romelu Lukaku who returned to the club on loan from Chelsea just one year after heading in the other direction.

“I wasn’t surprised, Romelu is a good person, a true and passionate man: he wasn’t happy where he was, he was just looking for a place to be, regardless of the money. In life you can make mistakes and there is always room to mend a mistake: his time at Chelsea made him reflect on football and life.”

He added that he thinks the Belgian forward will return with an even hungrier mindset than the one he had when he was first at the club.

“The same head as always and even hungrier. He wants to prove he can do as well as he did the first time at Inter: it’s a revenge he must take at all costs to erase the last year.

“I’ve seen a lot of Inter games under Inzaghi and I can say with certainty that if he had Romelu, he would have won the Scudetto.”

Enzo Scifo went on to say that there must be a balance found between Inter’s new style under Simone Inzaghi and the characteristics of Romelu Lukaku.

“At Inter he can’t change everything, but something can because in Inzaghi’s hands he doesn’t have a normal weapon: a balance is needed between the team’s new DNA, which plays very well, and Lukaku’s characteristics, which must be enhanced. One way or another, you play for him.”

He cast some doubt over the arrival of Paulo Dybala, suggesting it would be hard to balance three quality forwards.

“That would be a nice luxury. Whether we get him or not depends a lot on the ambitions of the club: you would present yourself with an exceptional attack to compete in the Champions League as well.

“We certainly know that Lautaro and Lukaku together are a spark, while Dybala has different characteristics, he can play at the back. But with this trident, it is difficult to keep the balance.”
