Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has asked Lega Serie A to reintroduce repurchase clauses and it will be discussed today, according to a report in the Italian print media.
As has been reported by Corriere della Sera, the Inter CEO wants the League Council to ask FIGC president Gabriele Gravina for an amendment that will reintroduce repurchase clauses and that motion will be discussed on Friday by the Federal Council.
By reintroducing the repurchase clauses, it will allow clubs to add the price tag of the sale as capital gains on their balance sheets.
This differs to buy-back clauses where the clubs have to wait until after the buy-back clause has been exercised or discarded before they can then add the sale to their balance sheet.
Inter are currently involved in multiple deals where this amendment would be of use such as the sale of Andrea Pinamonti or the inclusion of Cesare Casadei in the deal for Torino’s Gleison Bremer.
