Inter legend Beppe Bergomi has said that new Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana has feet like AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Nerazzurra, via FCInter1908, the former Inter defender talked about Inter’s new Cameroonian goalkeeper who he thinks can do just as well as AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan with the ball at his feet.

“Bremer is more of a centre-back, Milenkovic can stay on the centre-right: it will change the way we set up, Bremer is not De Vrij. But you can also think about not building from the back, Onana kicks very well, he has feet like Maignan.

“You can think about going deep straight away and going with the high line because Bremer gives you cover: ours were good but in the open field they suffered. You can think about organising a defence in a different way.”

Another player that Beppe Bergomi discussed was Romelu Lukaku who he is clearly a very big fan of for both what he does on the pitch as well as on it.

“I am crazy about Lukaku, not only from a technical point of view, but we remember that in those two years he was in empathy with the public and his teammates, he was very important.

“He wanted it badly, Inter wanted it first of all: the forwards did well but lacked depth, physical strength and that dominance. I am delighted with Lukaku’s return.”

One player that Inter have added to the squad who is of serious interest to Beppe Bergomi. He feels that he can add a new type of rotation to the squad that Simone Inzaghi will be able to utilise throughout the season.

“Last year, having watched the Conference League a lot, I followed him a lot: Jose also played him in the midfield in front of the defence, you can use him as a mezzala with Calhanoglu, making Barella back off. There can be a different rotation.”
