Former Palermo CEO Rino Foschi believes that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is working methodically to wrap up the signing of Paulo Dybala and not hurrying anything in the process.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Foschi gave the view that the Nerazzurri executive is showing his experience in his approach to signing Dybala, whilst he also praised Inter for getting the signing of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea done.

It has been no secrete that Dybala is a target for Inter and that the talks with the player have been ongoing, and that the 28-year-old would be keen on making the Nerazzurri his next club after leaving Juventus due to a failure to agree a contract extension.

However, the signing has been delayed for some time, and circumstances have made it unclear whether or not the Nerazzurri will actually be able to get a deal done.

In the view of Foschi, though, Marotta is still very much planning to sign Dybala on a free transfer, and is only waiting for the right moment to get it done.

Of the Inter CEO’s public statements where he sounded lukewarm on signing Dybala, Foschi said that “It’s classic Beppe Marotta. Expert, smart. He knows how to work quietly.”

He continued by noting that “[Dybala] is a player who Marotta and Fabio Paratici signed from me [when the player transferred from Palermo to Juventus in 2015]. Now he’s working calmly to sign him again. There’s no pressure as far as players leaving.”

Foschi also gave his thoughts on the deal for Lukaku, stating that “Marotta brought back a top player who he had done very well to sell for a big fee. It’s a big signing for them.”
