Inter are considering a move for Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou on a free transfer as a replacement for Andrea Ranocchia in their backline.
This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 23-year-old is being eyed up to take Ranocchia’s spot in the squad as a backup at the hear of the Nerazzurri’s back three.
Inter are getting ready for a revamp of their defense this summer, with Ranocchia already having departed for Monza and more departures and arrivals likely.
As a replacement for Ranocchia, Inter would want to move for a player who is available at a cut-price fee or on a free transfer, and given that Zagadou’s contract with the Schwarzgelben has expired without renewal, he could represent a significant free transfer opportunity.
The Frenchman’s profile is liked by the Nerazzurri, as he would have the physicality to hold down a role at the centre of a back three defensive system.
