A proposed change to the Italian FA regulations around loan transfers could be crucial in allowing Inter to send Andrea Pinamonti on loan to Monza tih a purchase obligation.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who report that the proposed change to the rules would allow for buyback options to be included in deals in which a player moves on loan with a purchase obligation.

Monza are keen on Inter striker Pinamonti, but they are aiming for the deal to be an initial loan which contains an obligation to buy him on a permanent basis in the event that they stay in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri could agree to such a deal, but they would want to retain control of the 23-year-old’s future in the form of a buyback option in the deal.

Currently, regulations allow for buyback options to be inserted in permanent sales and also in loan deals with purchase options, but not in loan deals which contain purchase obligations.

However, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Lazio President Claudio Lotito are among those who are supporting a proposed change in the regulations which would allow for buyback options to be added to loan deals with purchase obligations.

If this change in the Italian FA regulations were to go through, then a pathway would be opened up for Inter and Monza to make a deal for Pinamonti with such a structure.
