Legendary former Inter, Lazio, and Atletico Madrid striker Christian Vieri believes that Romelu Lukaku’s return will make Inter an extremely formidable attacking team.
Speaking at an event in Florence, as reported by FCInter1908, Vieri gave the view that with the Belgian’s strike partnership with Lautaro Martinez renewed next season, the duo can score upwards of fifty goals on their own.
Inter’s attack was the strongest in Serie A last season, with Martinez having been the top scorer and his most-used strike partner Edin Dzeko also chipping in with a good number of goals, whilst goals from the midfielders, wingbacks, and from set pieces also saw the Nerazzurri find the back of the net prolifically.
However, a player as ruthless as Lukaku had been during his two seasons in an Inter shirt had been lacking at times, and Vieri believes that now that the Belgian is back in the team, the Nerazzurri can have an even stronger attack.
“Lukaku shifts the balance towards Inter,” the former striker said. “They’re very strong now, and Lukaku and Lautaro can score 55 or sixty goals between them.”
