Inter have turned down offers to sign defender Francesco Acerbi from Lazio for next season, and the 34-year-old is set to join either Juventus or Monza.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero, who report that the Nerazzurri have declined the possibility of bringing in Acerbi despite a few offers having been made by his representatives indicating his interest in joining.

Acerbi looks all set to leave the Biancocelesti now that they have wrapped up the signing of AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli on a free transfer.

The Nerazzurri had been among the clubs linked with the 34-year-old, with the player having been keen on the possibility of reuniting with coach Simone Inzaghi.

However, Inter’s priorities lay elsewhere as far as signing defenders this summer, and so it looks to be down to either the Bianconeri who are still thinking of adding Acerbi to their defense, or Monza who could make him yet another ambitious summer signing.
