Napoli remain interested in signing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer this summer despite statements to the contrary made by their Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the 28-year-old’s availability is seen as an opportunity by the Partenopei even though yesterday Giuntoli denied any interest.

Giuntoli made comments about Dybala in a press conference where he claimed that Napoli have not spoken with Dybala and that they do not expect to sign the Argentine ahead of other clubs.

However, behind the scenes the Partenopei are still keeping track of the situation and could decide to move for Dybala in the event that they feel that opportunity has arisen, according to the Corriere.

For now, Inter are still the club most strongly linked with Dybala’s signature, but Napoli are no out of the race should he be available.
