Newly-signed Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a doubt for participating in tomorrow’s friendly match against Lugano.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 33-year-old is recovered from his muscle injury and completed a full training session yesterday, but that playing in a match may not be risked.
Mkhitaryan arrived at Inter still carrying a knock, in the form of a problem with his right thigh flexor which he picked up while playing with former club Roma in the Europa Conference League final against Feyenoord.
However, the Armenian has fully put the injury behind him as expected, and was fit enough to complete a normal training session yesterday after having spent the first day back in training working individually.
Tomorrow, the Nerazzurri will kick off their preseason friendly schedule with the traditional clash with Lugano, and Mkhitaryan could be left out to ensure he does not aggravate the muscle problem, or have his participation restricted.
