Inter are well aware of the release clause in Torino defender Bremer’s contract that becomes active in the January transfer window and would allow him to leave for €15 million, and this is why they are not going higher in their offer for him.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who report that the Nerazzurri expect that the clause puts pressure on the Granata to sell the Brazilian and so they feel they can get a deal done for €30 million.

Torino’s asking price for Bremer is around €40 million, which the Nerazzurri have not come close to meeting so far as they push to sign the 25-year-old.

The Granata extended the defender’s contract in the spring, which gives them more leverage than they would have had if they had been selling him as he goes into the final year of his deal in which case they would have risked losing him on a free transfer.

However, as part of the agreement made to extend the Brazilian’s dealing until the end of June 2024, a release clause was inserted for January, and according to Di Marzio this is very relevant to how Inter are approaching negotiations for his signature.

“Bremer has been made a key target by Inter who will do everything to get him and want to lower the asking price from €40 million,” he said.

“Inter have him in their sights but still consider the €40 million price tag to be too high for a player who has a €15 million release clause in January, added in the latest contract extension agreement,” he continued.

Di Marzio explained that “Inter are thinking, ‘Why pay €40 million when we can get him for €15 million in January? €30 million yes, €40 million no.”

Regarding links between Bremer and Juventus, he added that “For now, Juve have not taken any decisive steps because they know that the player is committed to Inter.”

“Then, if Inter cannot go on with the talks, Juve may try to sign him,” he added. “Then we have to see whether Cairo will sell a player to Juve.”
