Inter are set to save on €12.45 in gross wages for Arturo Vidal following the confirmation of the midfielder’s exit via a termination of his contract by mutual consent yesterday.

This according to Italian football finance news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who report that the Nerazzurri have spent a gross amount of €5.24 million to make a €4 million net severance payment to the 35-year-old and save on his wages.

Vidal’s deal was set to see the Chilean’s salary increase next season, from €6 million net per season, or €8.52 million gross, to €9.5 million for one more season, equal to €12.45 million gross taking into account the Growth Decree.

The Nerazzurri were never likely to keep the player on, however, and have secured his exit by paying out a €4 million severance to him, which has cost them €5.24 million.

The €5.24 million severance payment will be added to next season’s budget, as will the loss of the €750,000 value which the Chilean is accounted for in the budget, but these losses are significantly outweighed by the savings on the player’s gross salary.
