Inter’s offer of a €4 million severance payment is not likely to be enough to convince Alexis Sanchez to agree a mutual termination of his contract.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Chilean is not likely to agree to an exit from the club at the currently proposed severance payment, the same figure which saw Arturo Vidal leave the club yesterday.

Inter have wrapped up the departure of Vidal yesterday by making a €4 million severance payment to the midfielder, and are now hoping that Sanchez soon follows him out the door.

However, the departure of Vidal was facilitated by the fact that there was a clause in his deal that allowed the Nerazzurri to decline the option to extend his contract with the payment of a €4 million severance.

No such clause exists in the contract of Sanchez, who has one year remaining on his deal, and the 33-year-old is still waiting to find a new destination that he is happy with and in no hurry to leave.
