Romelu Lukaku received a warm reception from all Inter fans besides the Curva Nord in yesterday’s friendly match against Lugano.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old has not yet won over the Curva Nord following his move to and subsequent return from Chelsea but that other Nerazzurri fans are already cheering for him.

Lukaku wore an Inter shirt for the first time since the end of the 2020-21 season in yesterday’s friendly, with the Belgian having pushed for a return to the club with which he won the Serie A title despite having only spent a season in the Premier League.

The Curva Nord have made clear that they will support Lukaku as an Inter player, but also that some discontent remains over the nature of his shock sale to Chelsea last summer and that they expect their trust to be won back.

In yesterday’s match, the Nord did not yet warm up to the Belgian, although the rest of the Nerazzurri supporters did not hold back in cheering for him.
