Inter striker Edin Dzeko has no intention of leaving the club this summer despite the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, and could be used in an attacking partnership with the Belgian at time.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 36-year-old does not feel that with Lukaku’s arrival he will not have a place at the club, and on the contrary believes that they can form a complementary duo up front.
Dzeko was signed last summer as one of Inter’s attacking reinforcements following the shock sale of Lukaku to Chelsea, and now that the 29-year-old has returned to the Nerazzurri on loan for next season, the Bosnian’s place in the team could well be unsettled.
However, for his part Dzeko has thought about his future and his priority remains to stay at Inter, while coach Simone Inzaghi could see a possibility of using he and Lukaku together in attack in some games.
Given that the Bosnian functions as a kind of attacking playmaker as much as an out-and-out striker at times, he could link up with Lukaku by dropping deeper to stitch together player while the Belgian focuses on running in behind and attacking the last line of opposition defense.
