Inter winger Dalbert has suffered a very serious knee injury in training and he will need to have surgery in the coming days, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInternews, the Brazilian has had a nightmare start to his summer preparations whilst undergoing some individual pre-season training whilst in his home country.

He has undergone some examinations at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano and they have found that he injured his anterior cruciate ligament which is one of the worst injuries for a footballer to suffer.

He will now have to undergo surgery and will likely face a spell on the sidelines which will last for months.

He was not expected to be a part of Simone Inzaghi’s Inter squad for next season but the Nerazzurri could now really struggle to sell the Brazilian and get him off the wage bill which was the plan.
