Kristjan Asllani could be used in the midfield alongside Marcelo Brozovic next season rather than just as his backup, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today, the Albanian midfielder has already shown in friendlies and in training that he was certainly worth the investment. 

He was signed to be the backup to Marcelo Brozovic during the next season or two and eventually take the Croatian’s place in the starting eleven.

Given the quality and the versatility that he has shown both last season and now at Inter, Simone Inzaghi could find himself wanting to use the Albanian in the midfield three with Marcelo Brozovic and one other, likely Nicolo Barella.

It is a valuable asset for Simone Inzaghi to have as he was lacking options in midfield last season. This year he can rotate much more and adapt to different opponents.
