Monza are close to getting a deal done to sign Napoli striker Andrea Petagna for €15 million, and it is unclear if they will continue to try to sign Inter’s Andrea Pinamonti.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the newly-promoted side are ready to make Petagna their first major attacking arrival, although they could look to add another forward to their squad with Pinamonti a target.

Monza have been spending ambitiously as they look to bolster their squad for life in the top flight, and Pinamonti has been a target for some time, as they have already signed the likes of Andrea Ranocchia and Stefano Sensi from the Nerazzurri.

Now, the Lombards have secured Petagna’s signature, and so it is not clear if this changes their stance on trying to sign Pinamonti.

However, they would not be entirely out of the running, whilst Atalanta remain the favourites for the 23-year-old’s signature, and Sassuolo would also target him but only in the event that Gianluca Scamacca is sold.
