Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani is happy as a longtime Inter fan to hear the supporters of the club chanting his name already.

Speaking to InterTV following yesterday evening’s friendly draw against Monaco, the 20-year-old spoke about what joining the Nerazzurri has meant for him and about the welcome he has received from his teammates.

Asllani officially joined Inter just a couple weeks ago, but he is already showing what he is capable of with his displays in preseason training.

The young Albanian midfielder’s displays have been one of the highlights of the first couple weeks of preseason, and for him this is especially gratifying given that the Nerazzurri are a club he has supported since childhood.

Asllani still has a long way to go, and so does the team if they want to reach the start of the season at their best, but the early days at Inter have already been special for him.

“I’m happy because the guys welcomed me here,” he said, “I’m happy that we got a result again today, even if it’s too bad that we weren’t able to win.”

“We’re growing day by day,” he continued, “we tried to do what the coach asked us, I think we played a good match.”

He added that “We still need to improve, but we have time.”

Asllani concluded that “Being an Inter fan and hearing them chant my name repeatedly makes me very happy.”
