Italian journalist Valter De Maggio believes that Napoli are well aware that Paulo Dybala’s first choice is to join Inter and that they’ll only have a chance of signing him if the Nerazzurri fail to.
Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoNapoli.net, the journalist gave his assessment of the situation with the Partenopei’s pursuit of Dybala, and noted that the player’s preference to join Inter remains an important factor.
If Inter continue to go without wrapping up a move for Dybala, then eventually the Argentine will have to decide to join another club, but for the next few days at least there is still a chance that they could finally get a deal over the line.
The 28-year-old continues to hold out for the move to Inter, and only in the event that the door is definitively closed to this possibility will his priorities change, and according to De Maggio this is something that Napoli are aware of.
“Moving for Dybala would be very difficult,” he said. “The dream is there, but because Napoli know that it won’t be easy as the Argentine wants Inter, contacts with Udinese have been resumed for Deulofeu.”
“Dybala hasn’t said it’s impossible, but practically so, given that he wants Inter, he waits for Marotta, and as another option he is very intrigued by the idea of joining Jose Mourinho at Roma,” he added.
