Inter are still Paulo Dybala’s first-choice club and he’s waiting for CEO Beppe Marotta to finally get a move for him wrapped up, but time is running out and Roma are emerging as real candidates for his signature.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 28-year-old will only wait a few more days as Marotta tries to clear a place for him in the Nerazzurri’s squad.

The situation is the same as it has been since the Nerazzurri started getting a deal done to bring back Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea a few weeks ago, with Alexis Sanchez’s departure an absolute necessity to sign Dybala and one of Edin Dzeko or Joaquin Correa likely also needing to depart.

The difference now is that the start of the season is less than a month away and Dybala cannot wait forever to settle on his new club, so time is running out for Marotta to figure out how to sign him.

In the meantime, Roma have noted that the Argentine’s wage demands are not what they once were, and see him as a concrete opportunity to strengthen the attacking options available to coach Jose Mourinho.

At present, the Giallorossi still would not be able to get a deal done for Dybala right away as he continues to wait for Inter, but it may not be long before it is open season and they can swoop in for his signature.
