Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini is hoping that the Nerazzurri can somehow manage to pull off the signing of Bremer from Torino despite it now looking improbable.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, Mandorlini noted that the 25-year-old was the top defender in Serie A last season and expressed the hope that he will wear a Nerazzurri shirt.

Inter’s long-running pursuit of Bremer looks to be under serious threat after they put forward their final offer to Torino, leaving the Granata as well as the player and his representatives to both consider it as well as Juventus’s superior offer.

The Nerazzurri are not out of the running officially, however, and could have feint hope given that he had for some time given his personal agreement on a move for next season, and Mandorlini’s hope is that he is brought in at the end despite the surprising twist things have taken.

“I believe that Bremer can join Inter,” he said. “It’s my hope. I really hope so, because he was the top defender last season. If Skriniar left, he would be the ideal replacement in many ways. I really hope that he arrives.”
