Inter will not sell Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and will instead look to extend his contract.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri have taken the decision not to allow the 27-year-old to leave and will hand him a new deal worth a net of €6 million net per season during the fall.
Inter have been in talks with PSG for Skriniar’s signature for some time, but so far the Parisians have not come in with an offer that has convinced them to sell the Slovak international.
The failure to land Torino defender Bremer who is Juventus-bound has made keeping hold of Skriniar even more of a priority for the Nerazzurri, and so their plans have shifted.
It cannot be ruled out that a massive offer by the Parisians would cause Inter to change their minds and sell Skriniar, but this looks unlikely given that the talks have stalled and the French champions don’t look like they plan on going all-out to sign the defender.
Given that Skriniar’s current contract runs out at the end of June 2023, extending his deal will become an important matter, and Inter plan to do so during the fall, offering the player a new five-year deal worth €6 million net per season until the end of June 2027.
Inter’s plan is now to postpone any major sales until past the end of the current transfer window, taking all the time that they need before the June 2023 deadline.
